Web browser crash: Are you using Internet Explorer browser and having browser crashes very frequently? Even there are many other browsers available still, we most love to use Internet Explorer on Windows OS devices. Many have different reasons why they still love to use it.
Do you have any device with Internet Explorer only and do not have any other browser available for any reason? And it crashes as soon as you open a page/tab? Then, if you have a problem with it, you have many options to solve it quickly.
Already tried different ways to fix the problem, almost lost the patient? Don’t worry, here are some simple steps to follow by which we can fix the issues with Internet Explorer browser crash.
- Clear the cache
- Resetting the IE to default settings
- Checking the DNS configuration
- Uninstall & Install again
1#: Clear the IE Cache:
we should frequently clear the internal memory allocated when it filled up with the system cache data. When you are using IE to browse the internet for the longer period and you have not clear the IE cache, then better we do that instantly. Because that’s the reason mostly IE works very slowly and it may get crashed if we are trying different options event it is not responding.
The quicker way to clear the IE cache, open Settings–>Internet Options–>General–>Browsing History–>Delete. This will give further options to choose what are all files to delete like saved passwords, cookies, website history etc. select all options applicable and hit Delete button to clear the corresponding cache files from the system.
After done with the above steps, try to open Internet Explorer. Issue resolved and working as expected? If yes, then better you keep doing the above steps regularly to avoid such issues further. You can also opt for option “Delete browsing history on exit” option in open Settings–>Internet Options–>General–>Browsing History. If still IE crashing issue not resolved then will try with below #2 option.
#2: Resetting the IE settings to default:
This is another good way to resolve IE crashes with simple steps. Open Settings–>Internet Options–>Advanced–>Reset.
By using this option, the system will reset almost all settings related to Internet Explorer. It gives options to select the option reset setting like home page setting, ActiveX filter, search provider settings.
Check-up that box “Delete personal settings” in order to successfully restore all the settings of IE.
#3: Check the DNS configuration:
The DNS configuration for the Internet might have been changed. Not proper DNS configurations for the Internet also one of the reasons why the browser is getting crashed.
Hence better to check the DNS configuration done for Internet Explorer and redo once.
Open the Command Prompt in admin mode–>type below commands in sequence manner as given.
- >ipconfig /flushdns
- >ipconfig /registerdns
- >ipconfig /release
#4: Uninstall the IE & Install:
Have you tried all the above steps and Internet Explorer browser crash issue not resolved yet? Some files related to Internet Explorer might get corrupted in the installed folder. Hence better we should uninstall the IE and install the same again.
To install the latest Internet Explorer version, go to Microsoft site Internet Explorer.

Update latest version:
Web browser crash may be due to the fact that it’s not up-to-date and not able to cope up with the software on PC. hence better we keep browsers on PC updated always.
Try with a different browser on your PC if you are fed up with the current one and didn’t able to resolve the crash issue in time. As there is no limit or hard dependency, you can install as many browsers as on your PC to try.
Have you tried with different ways and different browsers? If you are not able to stop the browser crash even after tried all possible ways then one option left to try.
Internet Explorer: Open Settings–>Internet Options–>General–>Startup. Select “Start with tabs from the last session” option and click apply. This will make to re-open earlier open tabs when you restart the browser.
Chrome: Open Settings–>in “On Startup” option there are list of options to select. Pick and make sure check the option “Continue where you left” and restart the browser.
Update Adobe flash & JAVA version:
there may be an issue with add-ins ActiveX or plugin because of which browser getting crashed. This, in turn, might be due to the right JAVA version and/or adobe flash not updated. Hence better you check the latest version and update both flash software and JAVA on PC.
